With its early Islamic ruins, and in the centre of the town is a site which

is currently being excavated. Apart from the remains of a place, it is

thought that there may be early mosque lying beneath the site. Just

outside the town is an interesting set of seven early Islamic tombs where some followers of Mohammed are buried. 160 Km south of Zueila an area called Jabal Ben Ghnima where there are some prehistoric cravings.
